Does anyone remember a black and white film late 60's, early 70's called "Ruth", (not "The story of Ruth!)?

I think it was about a girl with Jehovah's witnesses parents and she needed a blood transfusion...maybe linked to the seaside? If so any idea how I can see it again?!
