Recommend a great 2-person cooperative board or card game?

I love Settlers of Catan, and my wife likes to play the two-player card version of it, but if I win she won't want to play for a while. I think she'd be more fond of a cooperative game where we win or lose together. Can you recommend a 2-player version (ie, Pandemic is out because it takes 4 people).
