What is a good book/magazine article on Hinduism (read details)?

as lame as it sounds, try cruising around wikipedia. that's your easiest bet. the problem is that a lot of people write books about Hinduism who are not educated enough to do so, or there is a slant one way or the other b y the author. the "... for dummies" book are too much of an overview and too vague. i know some people have a problem with wikipedia but all the pages on hinduism and hindu gods have been legit.
