Can i get a barring order against someone who is coming out of prison?

I am a victim of & my attacker is being released from prison in a few months. He is tied to my family biologically but not a part of the family. I am sick with worry about his release as he is violent & knows where the family home is etc. I dont know where i stand legally. He has served his time so i presume he is a free man & can go where he pleases once he is released. Any idea where i can get more info on this please?
