Accounting or Finance??....help i need advice?

I am the first person in my family to attend college, therefore i don't know of any professionals that can help with my decision. I am an undergrad accounting major and i keep thinking i want to switch to becoming a finance major to save my GPA to get into a reputable Grad School. Accounting is a boring subject, but i did it for job security. I am used to commission jobs, but with this economy downturn i decided to go back to school. Everyone talks about big 4 in accounting, but unless you have a stellar GPA you can't work for big firms, from what i noticed. Is this true? can you have a 2.93 GPA like me currently and still be able to get a job with a reputable firm?? I live in Southern California. I figured a good work history would outweigh that. Should i continue the accounting route or finance. And yes i ask counselor and they all spin the i don't want to be bias wheel on me, so i cant get a straight answer. I don't know anyone who is an accountant or who is in finance. So i am reaching out.
