Is it legal for a boarding house owner to render notice that boarders should leave the premises within 15 days?

new owner sent notice that all male boarders are given just 15 days to vacate. is this legal? is there a law that defends our right to be evicted in so short a time? in my case, it would cost me thousands to move because i have to pay to transfer my phone, internet and cable connections.
