"If you don't like it, don't fly"?
That's what supporters of the TSA's security procedures always say. Well, I say If you're afraid of terrorists, don't fly. I understand that safety and security are important, but if they ever conflict with freedom and dignity, then freedom and dignity should be chosen. Yes, we should try to protect against terrorist attacks, but the reality is that traveling always involves some kind of risk and we can never completely obliterate risk no matter how hard we try. If the TSA can't reduce risks without scans or pat-downs, then it's not worth. If you're not mature enough to accept the inherent risks that come with traveling, then you're not mature enough to fly. We should not have to be degraded and humiliated just to accommodate the irrational cowardice of others. Whatever happened to "Give me liberty or give me death?"
