Why can't I get wi-fi connection with my laptop when I have a router and internet connection on my computer?

1394 is firewire and apparently your wireless adapter is connected to your mobo via internal firewire, not the problem. Make sure your wireless is turned on, and has the proper updated drivers. Also, make sure it finds your router as an available network. Also, you can try resetting your ip address by going to command prompt, type ipconfig /release press enter then type ipconfig /renew
