My dogs smells like fish...?

I had her glands done the first time it smelt which was 2 weeks ago. She got spayed yesterday and so I can't bathe her but I tried wiping her area with a wash cloth. Today the whole room smells like fish. Gross old fish. Is this going to be a bimonthly thing? Could it be something else in her besides the glands needing to be expressed. I'm unemployed and don't really have money so I'm coming here before I go spend a couple hundred dollars I don't have at the vet. She never scoots her or anything like that. Maybe it's an infection?
